Dr. Amelia “Amy” Bartolone

Dr. Bartolone ("Dr. Amy") is an optometrist specializing in vision therapy, pediatrics, and head trauma. She founded Mid-Hudson Vision therapy to provide care for lazy eyes, vision and learning delays, children with special needs, post-concussion vision syndrome, and head trauma rehabilitation.   She is the only residency trained vision rehabilitation specialist in a 6 county radius.

​As a vision training specialist, Dr. Bartolone assists patients in overcoming tracking, eye teaming, and focusing problems which cause eye strain and interfere with learning. She also detects and treat problems which can lead to lazy eye. Dr. Bartolone is also a vision rehabilitation consultant at the Northeast Center for Rehabilitation and Brain Injury, the largest sub-acute facility for brain injury in the country.

​She graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in 1991 and then received her Doctor of Optometry degree from SUNY State College of Optometry in 1995. She completed a residency in pediatrics and vision rehabilitation at the Eye Institute in Philadelphia.

​Dr. Bartolone was a Clinical Professor at the SUNY State College of Optometry for 17 years. She was involved in teaching, research, and clinical care of children and adults. Her research has included farsightedness, lazy eye, and learning delays. She has published many scholarly articles and textbooks chapters as well as lectured nationally.

​Dr Bartolone is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. She was named New York State Young Optometrist of the Year in 2003.  She lives in Stone Ridge with her husband and two daughters.
